I
figured it’s time to update my bio. The other one was rather dry
and …well, boring.
If you
read the last bio, you know that I’m married with two great kids and
we all live in Texas along with our cats and dogs.
Do I
love reading and writing—that seems a given. So, here’s my new bio.
I’m a
writer. I’m moody. Sometimes I’m nice, and sometimes I’m
not—though I try to be. I love being a wife and a mom and
think that both must be the most fulfilling and terrifying ‘jobs’
that were ever created. I love vegetables and could be a
vegetarian, except for the fact I love steaks, and chicken and fish
and my mom’s roast. ;) I’m often impatient, but not really sure
why I’m in such a hurry.
I like
lazy Sunday afternoons and foggy early mornings. I’d love to visit
Scotland and Italy, Ireland and Russia—in no particular order. I
love music of all kinds, though Beethoven is a favorite as is Norah
Jones and Sarah McLachlan. I love Celtic music be it folk or
African fusion.
Favorite course I ever took in college? African Politics—only
course I ever read the entire text book plus the required novels for
the class. (Yes, I can be a nerd.) Least Favorite course:
Biology. What are alleles anyway and who came up with that
term? I get excited over research for new books. As a kid, I
wanted to fly the space shuttle and still think it would be cool to
launch into space and walk on the moon. Is it any wonder I prefer
the star studded nights to the bright days? Favorite
constellation: Orion (probably because it’s the first one I can
immediately find).
I like
to cook when I have the time and find it relaxing. Favorite
literary character: That one’s hard. Maybe Atticus Finch because
he didn’t do the expected thing. Or Hamlet because he was so
devious. And you have to hand it to Lady Macbeth for knowing how to
wrap a man around her finger. ;) (though she was a little too
dominatrix for me.)
If I
could live anywhere I wanted? Probably northeastern New Mexico on a
big ranch out in the middle of nowhere. Though I’m pretty happy
where I am now—country living, great winter weather and Texas
Bluebonnets in the spring. Yeah, life is good.
